Mbongiseni Dlamini is an extraordinary, yet humble former student who after receiving distinctions in all his subjects in Grade 11, being taught by three TEACH South Africa Ambassadors, earned a scholarship to finish high school at United World Colleges in Armenia. He was one of only two students chosen from South Africa. In 2014, his school (Zonkizizwe Secondary) raised R38,000 to cover his costs to go there.
UWC Dilijan, is an international school with a diverse student body where over 53 nations are represented. Mbongiseni has just graduated from UWC with an IB Diploma. In his first year he managed to maintain an average of 70%. As a result of his hard work and performance, he has been accepted into private liberal arts college in the United States (College of Idaho) to study a BSC in Mathematics. From there he hopes to continue studying to complete a post-graduate BSC Mathematics and Science.
